Marketing for PSOs

Picking and getting ranked for the proper keywords is probably the most important part of marketing your blog. Yes you will get lots of great traffic from regulars who read and chat on the phone and money with you. But to attract new callers you have to be where they are searching.. There are hundreds of thousands of PSOs trying to rank for “Phonesex” - so be creative… shoot for something that is called a medium-tail - as in “Anal Phone Sex” or “Big Booty Phone Sex” - pick 4-5 words that people would search for and target those words. Again… find your niche and market to it…

Now that you picked a niche, think of some variants on the niche and write them down. Now just because you thought of them does not mean they are being searched. You might think of “Bikini topped, nipples showing barely legal phone sex chicks” and you can target those keywords and probably be #1 in google… for all 2 of the people who search for that each year.

You have to choose keywords that people are actually searching on!!! Now there are plenty of keyword research tools that tell you how many hits a keyword gets - this is only part of the research that you need to do. To really zero in you have to research how many times a word(s) is searched for and how much competition there is for that word - the you zero in on your KEI - Key Word Effectiveness Index. In summary the more searches and less competition the better the KEI or the better the keyword is to target!

I have a subscription to Wordze and use it all the time! Not just for my personal phone sex blogs - but to search out keywords for the sites and blogs I run just to market affiliate programs (now about 35 of them). Wordze is powerful and might be overkill for the average PSO.

Portal sites are site designed to feed you traffic.      There are varied opinions on portal sites I have my own concept and have had much luck developing it!    The idea of a portal is to draw traffic that you can push to your own personal blog, sell some memberships on pay sites, gain bookmarkers and create backlinks to your personal blog to raise its rankings in SEO.

While your personal blog probably uses phone sex and other similar keywords.      A portal site can focus on one niche.     So if your character is slutty sexy Milf you might take lots of Oral Sex calls.     So make a portal site focused on Oral Sex.     Include various sub-niches Deep Throating, Facials, Lipstick, Bukkake etc.    A portal is mostly set it up and forget it!

Think of the portal as a way for surfers to feel they have found the ultimate authority site on your niche.   When they hit the home page they might various sections - maybe recordings (free and for sale) of you doing some oral sex phone bone, a review section with your opinion on various oral sites, links to movies of the days etc… use your imagination!     Most importantly include ads to your personal blog.

Are you always stuck looking for something to write about on your blog? You dont have to always write personal stuff or about your day.    Write about a great site a caller told you about and you surfed with him.    Guys want to think that you are into the same thing they are and guys love girls that are into porn!       Once in a while pick a site and write about, add a subtle link to the tour or the sign up page or even the picture of the day!

Drive traffic to your sites and give yourself backlinks by using a splog.. is that a typo? No typo! There are varied definitions of splogs - in my definition a splog is a blog that is used to feed a main blog and the posts are generally generic not very personal. The main thing about a splog is it should be “set it and forget it” - though I do check them once every 90 days!

First I choose a niche - If I have a character that does lots of BJs I create an oral sex splog, for a submissive character I might have a BDSM splog, for a barely legal maybe a teen splog.    BUT to really capture surfers I get more niche specific.    For oral girl I create splogs for deepthroating, facials, twogirl BJs, lipstick BJs, bukkake etc…   Remember the concept is to attract surfers that will want to call, drive traffic to your personal blog and maybe sell a few memberships while you are at it!

For my own blog network I love using splogs to feed traffic to my sites. I create a blog on a free hosting service like smut.com, sensualwriter, vixenblogs, or my own WPMU sites. I create the blog setting up ads, links to my sites , and ads for my own sites - all using openx - so I can change in all my splogs without going to them. Then I also include links to link dumps, blog directories and a few of my other splogs in the blogroll.. The links to linkdumps and directories are set up as trades - you can find lots of trades by looking on adult webmaster boards. I track my trades using  Link Organizer - once every three months I look for broken trades and do a bit more linking/trading.

Once I have the links and the ads - basically the side bars set up I choose a theme - something basic with three columns nothing fancy on the header and load the theme.    Then I check it out to make sure it works - this is the last time I touch the design facet.

Next step is to set up the SEO functions - you want surfers to find your splog!!    Set your privacy to let google see you, enter your keywords and set up pinging!      I use Rocket Pinger - this is a high powered pinger and sends out pings whenever the blog is updated!

Now you are ready to add content!    This is where RSS feeds are your friend!!    Click on your chosen sponsor site and choose the RSS feed.    The feed will include your link codes and should include pics and some nice text - just set the RSS feed to automatically post to your blog!      There are lots of services and scripts that do this - I like Blog Automator! Blog Automator not only posts your RSS feed but morphs it to change out certain words so you wont have the same posts as everyone else!

Now that your Splog is set up - check it once every three months and start enjoying the traffic.    Not only will you get traffic - but you will enjoy a backlink that will help your PR on your main blog.

OK… so this program has an OBNOXIOUS Name!!     The owner got rich by selling porn and now gets richer by having you sell pay sites for him!     Obnoxious or not - these sites sell and he gives you the tools to sell!

To sell a paysite on your blog not only do you have to market it on your blog, but the site itself has to have some substance.     Most surfers who are cruising around zero in on a specific niche and they get to know the many paysites in that niche - if a site doesnt have original content… your surfer will recognize that fast.    How I got Rich is filled with Original Content.

How I got Rich sites are great niches, filled with Original Content and offers great market tools.    My favorite part is his videos on how to use the tools he offers.    He shows you how to add a Pic of the Day or find a banner and your linking codes.   The videos are truly helpful.

For marketing he offers a ton of banners in all different sizes as well as free content so you can make your own.      You can also use the Free Content to make a blog post about how much you enjoy a site you are promoting.     One of my favorite things offered is the POD - Picture of the Day - this is a great tool to make surfers return daily - even if you forget to post on your blog - the POD updates.

The POD is a URL where the pic changes every day.      You just put a link on your blog “click here for Picture of the day”

I am a big fan of OpenX. You can download OpenX here. OpenX is a script that is open source software (meaning free to use). A script is a program that sits on your server and runs from there you can access it through any web browser.

OpenX was initially designed to be a resource for someone with mutliple websites who is selling the space on those sites to multiple advertisers. It is not a selling site like adbrite but just a hosting and serving place.

With OpenX I set each of my sites up as a “publisher” and then each Sponsor as an Advertiser. The ads in the sidebars to the right are served with OpenX and wil change each time the page rotates. I also use OpenX to serve up NF buttons, Featured Pics and more -it is much easier once you are used to it than using a banner rotator.

The best part about OpenX is you can track impressions and clicks - so each day I can see how many times any various banner or text ad was served and how many times they got clicked. If I am running two banners in the same spot and each is served up 1000 times and one is clicked 200 times and one only 2 times I know to change out that banner!

The greatest thing is - now that I have decided to change a banner, I only need to swap it out once on my openx server and it changes on every site I have it on!

OpenX is magic for monetizing and making $$ from your blog!!!

Sextronics has tons of great site to promote - even cartoon games! And they have LOTS of great graphics so you can try various banners. I promote Party Girls Flashing and Drunk Girls Flashing on a blog I have. There are great banners for each site - so I have about 6 for each loaded in OpenX, each time they load the impression is recorded and then each click is recorded. By doing this I am able to narrow down which gets the most clicks and ultimately sales!

You know all those annoying ads that pop-up and say… find a date in ‘Your Town, Your State” well those are using geotargeting - the ads see ip and know your location and offer you Mr Right!.

And those ads convert and can help you make money from your blog!
